|
| The Commissioners
recognise that in the day-to-day operations of the Port of Belfast,
there is an inevitable impact on the environment in a number of ways
and we wish to minimise the potential harmful effects of such activity
wherever possible. |
|
| |
|
| As part of our continuing drive for quality we have developed a
comprehensive policy statement which will enable us to set and publish
the targets by which our efforts towards sustainable environmental
improvement can be measured and monitored on a regular basis. |
|
| |
|
| In this way we aim to protect the health and safety of our employees,
the port users and tenants whilst contributing to the future and
well being of the environment. We have undertaken to help every employee
to understand and implement the relevant aspects of this policy in
their day-to day work through the regular communication of objectives,
action plans and achievements. |
|
| |
|
| The Chief Executive of Belfast Harbour Commissioners
has ultimate responsibility for the organisation’s environmental
