Accountant

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic accountant to join the Finance Team.

The successful candidate will:
Be involved in reviewing monthly management accounts and management information
  Provide assistance in the development of management information systems.
  Assist with the application of accepted accounting policies and maintain comprehensive and up to date accounting records.
  Be responsible for compliance with statutory requirements relating to PAYE, National Insurance, VAT, Excise Duty and Construction Industry Scheme Tax.
  Be responsible for all pension scheme accounting, including Audited Accounts, Corporation Tax Returns and liaison with external auditors.
  Develop, review and document financial control policies and procedures.
Applicants should:
Be a practice trained and qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) - preferably qualified within the last 3 years.
  Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in external audit.
  Have a minimum of 1 year’s experience in internal audit.
  Have a thorough understanding of statutory accounting requirements and taxation.
  Preferably have experience of pension scheme accounting desirable.
  Have the ability to work professionally on own initiative.
Commercial experience would be an advantage in this position.
Assistant Estate Officer
This exciting opportunity will suit someone wishing to develop or further a career in property.
The Estate Department is responsible for the management and development of the Estate lands with over 350 tenants including Shorts Bombardier, Harland and Wolff, Belfast City Airport and the Odyssey complex.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
The management and maintenance of Estate Division Workflow and departmental records.
  Assisting in the preparation of management and financial information reports.
  The management of various subcontractors, including relevant financial matters.
  The management of Harbour properties and tenancies, including issues pertaining to planning applications.
  Implementing and maintaining Health and Safety Systems as well as Risk Management procedures.
Applicants should have:
At least 3 A Levels at Grade B or above (or equivalent).
  GCSE Maths & English Language in Grade C or above (or equivalent).
  A minimum of 5 years’ experience of administration in a busy commercial environment.
  A current full, clean driving licence.
  The ability to communicate articulately in writing and in person.
The following would be highly desirable:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in property management, agency or similar business.
  Knowledge of statutory planning processes.
  Experience of AutoCAD 2000 or above.
The successful candidate will receive both financial support and study time to undertake and achieve BSc Hons in Property Development and Management, which is essential for this position.
