Titanic Port

In November 2010, Belfast Harbour will proudly launch an updated history of Belfast Harbour Commissioners and the Port of Belfast. Written by respected local author and journalist Alf McCreary, 'Titanic Port' will take the reader through the centuries of the organisation's history highlighting the significant contribution of the Port to the development and progress of the City of Belfast.

Prominent figures from the Belfast's past will feature within the narrative charting the establishment of the first quay in Belfast by James I in 1613 through to the heyday of shipbuilding in Belfast to the 21st century and the lead taken by Belfast Harbour to drive froward the regional economy with the campaign to attract foreign direct investment to the Harbour Estate.
