Trevor Anderson

Operations Director
Trevor is an engineer by profession and joined the organisation in 2006 from Bombardier Aerospace. Trevor had spent a total of 22 years with Bombardier in a number of roles including Head of Enterprise Systems for Bombardier Aerospace Worldwide based in Montreal, Canada.

Kevin Allen

Harbour Master
Having gone to sea at the age of 16, Kevin joined Belfast Harbour in 2006 in possession of over 24 years of extensive seagoing experience, including 10 years at a command level. He was appointed Harbour Master in 2008 and has primary responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of Marine activities in the Port.

As well as being a boat owner, Kevin is also Helmsman with the RNLI’s Redbay Inshore Lifeboat Station.

Michael Evans

Deputy Harbour Master
Michael completed his Masters certificate in 1989 whilst employed with The China Navigation Company of Hong Kong, where he was supervising container, bulk, break bulk, forest product and tanker vessels as officer, master and shipbuilding superintendant. In 1996, he moved to P&O ferries to become involved in their fast ferry operation in Northern Ireland. Michael joined the Harbour in 2002 as Assistant Harbour Master before being promoted to Deputy Harbour Master in 2005. Michael's current focus is on matters of conservancy, increasing recreational usage and event management.

Paul Hayes

Assistant Harbour Master
Paul joined Belfast Harbour as Port Controller in 2006, after five years in a similar role in the Port of Larne. In 2008, he was appointed Assistant Harbour Master.

Prior to joining the organisation, Paul gained seagoing experience on a wide range of vessels including general cargo, oil tankers, container and Ro-Ro vessels. Previously he was Operations Supervisor with Esso Petroleum Company and Operations Manager with Brett Martin Ltd.

Paul’s principal areas of responsibility are the Management of Shipping and V.T.S. Services in the Port.

Ian Spratt

Safety & Environmental Officer
A graduate Chemical Engineer, Ian joined Belfast Harbour in 2002 with 10 years experience in technical and safety roles within the local chemical and processes industries. In addition to providing Safety and Environmental training and support to all levels within the organisation, Ian’s responsibilities also include the co-ordination of the Port’s Emergency Planning and Oil Spill Response arrangements.

Ian is also a qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor and is a member of the Emergency Planning Society.

Lillian McShannock

Shipping Co-ordinator
Lillian previously worked in a number of shipping roles from age 17 before joining Belfast Harbour in 2004. She held a number of roles within the organisation before her appointment as Shipping Movement Coordinator in 2008. Having recently completed an HNC in Business and Management, Lillian hopes to complete the Honours degree in the coming years.
