Belfast Harbour Opens New Multi-Storey Car Park in the Heart of City Quays Development
Site will be operated by NCP, the UK’s largest parking retailer and operator.
Belfast Harbour has officially opened a new 907 space car park, the latest investment in its City Quays development.
The new £17m custom-built multi-storey car park will service tenants in Belfast Harbour’s £275m, mixed use City Quays development, as well as providing convenient parking for guests at the AC by Marriott Hotel, commuters and other visitors to the City.
The new car park was designed by RPP Architects and built by Felix O’Hare, with a striking blue finned design on the side of the building designed to symbolise the City’s link with the river and the organisation’s rich maritime history.
Located between Donegall Quay, Tomb Street and the Cross-Harbour Bridge, the project supported 100 construction jobs during the 18-month build.
Belfast Harbour has chosen NCP, the UK’s largest parking retailer and operator, to operate and manage the safe and secure car parking facilities.

“City Quays counts well known businesses such as Baker McKenzie, TPiCAP, ITV and U105 among its existing tenants and is also home to the AC Hotel by Marriott. We are sure that all of our tenants and visitors will benefit from this latest investment.”
The car park features mobile payment platforms and electric car charging points. It includes dedicated pedestrian walkways along the car park decks, enlarged car parking spaces with LED lighting and CCTV coverage facilitating 24/7 use.
City Quays is NCP’s third car park in Belfast city centre.

The City Quays area is currently home to over 5,000 workers and will eventually provide jobs and homes for up to 13,000. The recently completed City Quays 2 building can accommodate 1,000 workers while City Quays 3, a £50m, 250,000 square feet office building currently lodged for Planning Approval, will provide space for a further 3,000 people if approved.
